In case you’re not annoyed with our faces yet, here are some of the rest of our Christmas photos. These ones were taken around Turnagain Arm- a quick 10 minute drive from our home. Again, the day was cold, but we had fun snuggling up.
And! Here are some updates about our lives in the new year:
Aaron suggested I share more of our Christmas photos here (since I’ve been hoarding them and refusing to share more than two with anyone on Facebook), so here they are!
I’ve never understood the point of Christmas cards. My family didn’t take Christmas pictures growing up, Aaron and I are too cheap to pay someone to do it, and not to disappoint the rest of the US, but they end up getting thrown away!
This year, however, one of my mother-in-law’s only Christmas wishes from us was to send her an updated picture of the two of us. I don’t do or buy anything unless it’s the best of the best, so I began my search for the best photographers in the Anchorage area. After scrolling through Instagram for about 5 minutes I came across Kristian Irey’s feed and FELL IN LOVE with her romantic, moody, adventure photography!
She photographs for brands and stuff, so I figured she’d be too busy to respond to my measly Christmas photo request just two weeks before Christmas… But guess what?! She did! Not only did she take gorgeous photos of the two of us in our favorite Alaska, she finished editing all of our photos within a few days to make sure we had them for our mamas by Christmas! She’s also from the Columbus, Ohio area so I had a preconceived notion that she’d be great.
During the winter the ponds at Potter Marsh freeze over and make for great ice-skating! We were freezing, but had fun cozying up and skating around with one another.
